Forbes' Highest Paid Actresses 2012-13

In Hollywood, salary is all about power and influence; how much an actor/actress is paid reflects their box-office potential and how much interest they generate in a movie.

As a result, Forbes' Magazine's annual list of highest paid actresses is a great way to gauge who has the power in Tinseltown in the last twelve months. You can also check out the highest paid actors in my post from a couple of weeks back. Give 'em a read and let me know what you think!

Unlike the men, the lady who sits atop this list might raise a few eyebrows; Angelina Jolie. That's right, Ms. Jolie, an actress who hasn't starred in a film since Salt and The Tourist in 2010 and Kung Fu Panda 2 in 2011 is somehow the highest earning actress in Hollywood.

Jennifer Lawrence in Silver Linings Playbook
In order to top the list, Jolie has been hard at work on Disney's Maleficent (due out next year) for which she has reportedly been paid $15 million as well earning an estimated $10 million for being the face of Louis Vuitton.

It means she earned an estimated $33 million in total from June 2012 to June 2013. It's a fair bit, yet somehow still half of what Robert Downey Jnr. earned in order to top the list of actors. Draw your own conclusions from that I say...

In second place sits Jennifer Lawrence on $26 million, which is a pretty handy pay-check to go with that shiny Oscar. Her place in the list is hardly surprising given her recent success with The Hunger Games and Silver Linings Playbook (as well as smaller roles in House at the End of the Street and The Devil You Know). You can almost guarantee she'll be there for the next few years with both the Hunger Games and X-Men franchises in overdrive.

Kristen Stewart (who topped the list in 2012) slips to third with (a mere) $22 million. Behind her is Jennifer Aniston ($20 million), Emma Stone ($16 million) and Charlize Theron ($15 million).

  1. Angelina Jolie - $33 million
  2. Jennifer Lawrence - $26 million
  3. Kristen Stewart - $22 million
  4. Jennifer Aniston - $20 million
  5. Emma Stone - $16 million
  6. Charlize Theron - $15 million
  7. Sandra Bullock - $14 million
  8. Natalie Portman - $14 million
  9. Mila Kunis - $11 million
  10. Julia Roberts - $11 million
