Film Review: The Amazing Spider-man 2

Spider-man, Spider-man, does whatever a spider can. Spins a web, any size, catches thieves, just like flies, look-out...here comes the Spider-man.

Now I have that off my chest, let's get on with it shall we? Rise of Electro is the sequel to 2012's Spidey reboot, Amazing Spider-man. So, what's the verdict - does this sequel live up to its 'amazing' namesake?

Rank the Films: Spider-man


As any regular reader of feeling fuzzier will know, lists are pretty darn nifty. We have a profound appreciation for straight-up lists. This is the thinking behind Rank the Films, a regular feature that pulls apart the pros and cons of a series of films, ranking them in order of bad to good. 

In this edition, I put the Spider-man films under the microscope - from Sam Raimi's superb Spider-man 2, to the much maligned third instalment *shudder*. What'll come out on top? Well, read on...

Film Review: The Amazing Spider-man

How soon is too soon for a re-boot? Five, ten years? When Sony Pictures announced back in 2010 that a reboot of their lucrative Spider-man franchise was on its way, many people reacted with despair, proclaiming it too soon for Spidey to given the a rework since Spider-man 3 had only been in cinemas 3 years previously. Now, two years later, The Amazing Spider-man swings into cinemas a mere decade after the Sam Raimi original.  But does it live up to its namesake?
