Film Review: Noah

Noah? I barely knew her! Heh.

Okay, with that out of the way, let's get on with it shall we? Here is my review of Darren Aronofsky's take on the Biblical epic, Noah. And don't fret, it's better than Evan Almighty

Film Review: Need for Speed

A video-game adaptation of a popular racing sim with next to no plot? Sounds promising. Thankfully, Need for Speed, which stars Aaron Paul and Imogen Poots, is actually pretty darn good.

Film Review: Much Ado About Nothing (2013)

What do you do if you've just spent several months working with some of the world's biggest actors on a near enough perfect superhero movie that would go on to make $1.5 billion dollars worldwide and receive widespread critical acclaim?

Well, if you're anything like Joss Whedon, you'd get some mates round and spend twelve days recreating a cherished Shakespearean play, in black and white in your own backyard.

This is my review of Much Ado About Nothing.

Film Review: 1 - Life on the Limit

1 - Life on the Limit is a DVD documentary about Formula 1 motorsport, its rich history, and long battle with driver safety and mortality in the 1960's, 70's and 80's. It's informative, captivating and rich in detail, as well as narrated by Michael Fassbender.

Film Review: The Monuments Men

Directed by and starring everybody's favourite silver fox, George Clooney, The Monuments Men is a drama/comedy/war epic about a team of art experts who are tasked with preserving timeless cultural items from the fast-retreating Nazis in the final few months of World War II.

The film also stars Matt Damon, Bill Murray, Cate Blanchett and Hugh Bonneville (amongst other big names). So, with a cast so likeable and talented, what could possibly go wrong?

60 Second Film Reviews #11

Quick movie reviews, without the waffle. 60 Second Film Reviews is a regular feature where I compile together brief reviews of recent films I've watched at home or at the movies - and generally couldn't be arsed didn't find time to write a proper review for.

This month, we have We're the Millers, Kick-Ass 2 and Don Jon

Rank the Films: Alien series

As any regular reader of feeling fuzzier will know, lists are pretty darn nifty. We have a profound appreciation for straight-up lists. This is the thinking behind Rank the Films, a regular feature that pulls apart the pros and cons of a series of films, ranking them in order of bad to good.

In this edition, I put the Alien franchise under the microscope - from Ridley Scott's original classic, to David Fincher's divisive Alien 3 and Paul W. S. Anderson's god-awful Alien vs. Predator, the series has certainly see-sawed through its fair share of ups and downs.

So, let's put this one to rest; the Alien series in order from worst to best.

Oscars 2014: Winners and Losers

So the Oscars are all wrapped for another year. Whilst I didn't watch the ceremony, I have put together a quick column on my thoughts on this years winners (and of course, losers).

What did you all think? What awards didn't go the way you hoped? Let me know in the comments section below!

Film Review: Dallas Buyers Club

Dallas Buyers Club is a Best Picture-nominated drama starring Matthew McConaughey, Jared Leto and Jennifer Garner. It's an affecting, memorable and striking film that reaffirms McConaughey's renaissance into one of the best actors in the business today.
